The contemporary art center of Montpellier will inaugurate its first exhibition on June 29, 2019
The MoCo, located in the Hotel Montcalm, is the third pillar, with La Panacée and Ecole des Beaux-Arts, the public institution created by the Metropolis around contemporary art.
The inaugural collection, presented at the MoCo from June 29th, will highlight the collection of the Japanese entrepreneur Yasuharu Ishikawa, with 50 museum works (sculptures, videos, installations and photographs) of about 20 international artists.
A first free weekend
To support the inauguration of the MoCo next June, the city also offers a ZAT (Temporary Artistic Zone) of a particular type, called ‘’100 artists in the city’’. The operation will be based on a multifaceted artistic career, deployed throughout the Ecusson and the Fine Arts district, from June 8 to July 28.
On June 29 and 30, for its inauguration, entry to the MoCo will be free.
